52 Weeks is ONE YEAR!

For your birthday dinner we made your favorite (this week): pancakes with fruit. And scrambled eggs with cheese. You really liked the meal and the company (Nanna & Poppa Johnson were in town and Auntie C and Uncle O came over too).

 You got many sweet gifts. Sheila (daycare provider) gave you the giraffe ball popper which Dada didn't know how to work but you did. All you have to do is smash its head to make the ball fly out. You got a new pair of shoes to fit your long toes, a new water bottle and toothbrush, a dinosaur jacket and book, a subscription to the Little Lutheran, a giant slide, and a pass to the Children's Museum!

What a year it's been, little bug.

At your 1 year appointment, you weighed 20 pounds and were 30.5 inches long. You started walking around 11 months and now that you're one, you are almost running. You like to climb on top of your picnic table, knock on windows, chase Papi around the kitchen, turn lights on and off, and honk noses. You bounce your yellow ball and you can really throw your toys around. You like to beat on the drum and play the piano. One of your favorite toys is your little garden house where you check your mail and put the goodies in the garden. You love to help unload the dishwasher (you crawl inside, get wet, and then need new clothes). You insist on using a fork to eat (so dignified) but not just a baby fork, usually Mama's fork. You gives kisses, love on Papi (by biting him, kind of?!), and when we ask "How much does Dada love you?" you throw your hands into the air. (We love you more than that, even). You give wicked awesome high fives (sticky hands, usually).  You've completed your first session of Water Babies swim class and we started a new tradition of going to Burger Moe's afterwards and you eat SO MUCH burger and mac & cheese. And then you run around the bar and make friends. You're smile wins people over quite quickly. You like to curl up and occasionally you bite Dada's shoulder but only when you are reallllllly tired. You give random leg hugs in the middle of play time.  Your favorite color is yellow (yellow foam numbers in the bath, yellow giraffe legs at the library, and yellow bumpy ball).

You're great at going with the flow, going on adventures, meeting new people, and also just staying home. We really can't imagine life without you, baby Sorenosaurus (dubbed by Uncle Nate).
