Soren the Cow

Soren was cast as a cow (which was perfect) at our church pageant. He was a little hesitant at first, watching from the side lines. For the final song, he made his way, all by himself, to the front of the church. He climbed the stairs, carefully, and took a seat halfway up. He watched the song from there. Since he had been awake since 3:30 that morning (nerves?) we were pretty happy with his performance. Well done, little sleepy cow!

West Yellowstone Ski Festival 2013

Another plane ride, another sticker book, is how it goes for Soren Johnson. This time, we flew from Minneapolis to Bozeman, Montana (and then drove to West Yellowstone, MT) for our third annual Thanksgiving Ski Extravaganza. It's become such an awesome tradition for our family: beautiful scenery, quiet & calm days filled with skiing, swimming (in hot and cold pools), jacuzzi-ing, eating, playing...
...and sitting on moose heads...
Soren's all bundled up for his first ski of the year, in his Chariot (what a little prince).
And they are OFF!
First meal: always pizza.
Morning in West Yellowstone...is beautiful. The weather this year was so wonderful, just warm enough, nice snow.
Soren visits his friend Mari and plays stickers.
We took a few visits to the Grizzly & Wolf Rescue Center. We got to see the wolves being fed, and the grizzly bears were roaming around and made a few loud roars.
Micah after a cold morning ski.
We finished off with a walk into Yellowstone National Park. We couldn't make it far enough on our feet to see much besides trees...and blue sky...and some birds. But Soren was on the lookout for a moose the whole time (looking up, though...so he didn't see any).
After an early morning flight, Soren touches down at MSP and has had enough.

Halloween 2013

The results of our annual Residency Pumpkin Carving party. Kathleen's (freestyle) owl won the prize this year.
Soren dressed as a bumblebee and went trick-or-treating at Lund's with his friend Jonas the Monkey.
Driving cars, eating cookies, happy kids.
 Painting followed by sink bath.
Ouch! My family knows me too well! I came home from school on my 30th birthday to find our yard filled with Halloween lawn ornaments. If you know me, you know of my dislike for said lawn decor (thanks for nothing Paul Goddal). Later that night, everyone!!! came for a surprise birthday party. Well done, family!
